You are warmly welcomed to Łódź, one of Poland's largest cities. Łódź developed in the 19th century as a centre for the textile industry. You can read more about the history of Łódź and its most important monuments here.
Travel to Łódź
Łódź is less than two hours by car or train from Warsaw and its Fryderyk Chopin Airport. Łódź can also be reached by train from Berlin (with a transfer in Poznań) or by bus in about six hours. The well-developed network of highways makes it possible to reach Łódź by car in less than a day from Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the Baltic countries.
Fryderyk Chopin Airport (WAW) is the largest airport in Poland. We recommend choosing this airport as your destination and travel to Łódź by train. There is train station directly at the airport, where you may take any train to Warszawa Centralna (Warsaw Central) or Warszawa Zachodnia (Warsaw West) stations. Then you should change to a train to Łódź. The main station is Łódź Fabryczna, however you also choose Łódź Kaliska (closest station to the conference venue) or Łódź Widzew (some trains stop only there). You may check the trains schedule here: https://koleo.pl/en/rozklad-pkp/warszawa-lotnisko-chopina/lodz.
There is a small airport directly in Lodz (LCJ). This is the most convenient option, however, there is a limited number of flights and most of them do not operate daily. From the airport as you can take a taxi, Uber or bus directly to your hotel or the conference venue.
In Łódź you may take a public transport to your hotel (you can buy tickets in the machines on some stops or in every vehicle) or taxi or Uber to the conference venue or your hotel.
